Autogas Has A Long Term Price Advantage
You can save as much as 50% of their fuel costs with LPG compared to petrol, and 20% compared to diesel. Autogas is also called a green fuel compared to petrol or diesel, it produces very low emissions, so the government has committed to keep the tax on LPG much lower than petrol.
The government is clear on its support of LPG, through both financial and non-monetary means. Primarily, the government endorses the use of LPG through perceived rates of taxation, guaranteed through the 'Alternative Fuels Framework'. The framework sets out:
This means that we know that the price of LPG at the pumps will continue at around half the price of petrol and diesel for the foreseeable future.
As a domestically produced product, the government has and will continue to support the increased use of LPG / Autogas. It should be noted that the Queen, Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister all use LPG powered cars.
